In late 2014 my exploration of religion entered a new phase, leading me to the Islamic Republic of Iran. I had an ambition to witness the functioning of a state in which there was no divorce between religious principles and constitutional rights.
The visit surprised me in several ways, including a newfound enamorment with the Persian people and an enhanced understanding of the application of Sharia law.
